Vector --- Different body shapes
Vector illustrations drawn for an online portal's articles on choosing the correct clothes for different body shapes.
He's been obsessed since the 1950s with something very blue and white. It's time to relax and enjoy the rest of his life. Like many others, he longs to see the world before his journey ends...
"Ooooo, I'll go see the world, if it's the last thing I'll ever do!"
Submission 2:
Father Mite brings his family for a vacation. He's lost in the chest hair jungle. Kid Mite is whiling time away on his PSP and whining "Are we there yet?"
Submission 3:
Muriel finally gets to go on a trip. Something darker ;)
A series of web banners using flash, created for a client of Sense Advertising in Melbourne. Concept by ad agency, illustrations by me, flash programming shared by both parties.
Another pitching job for a series of pamphlets on health messages, targeted at Primary school students. It was challenging working with the client's text as I had to make sure there were lots of space and text had to be presented in small chunks so the children can actually absorb the information. Colours also have to be kept bright and cheery to appeal to them.
It was fun coming up with the characters based on the names given by the client. I used a multi-racial mix as that is usually a requirement for education materials coming from governmental agencies.
This animated gif card was an urgent job over the Lunar New Year holidays. As it was a corporate client, a few rounds of amendments were necessary before it was confirmed.
Branding and marketing campaign for the Corporate Community Involvement Programme in my previous company. The task was to persuade colleagues to sacrifice personal time to accompany the folks at our adopted home for the elderly.
The 'Charity Pek' character was created as a likeable and intimate mascot, a beneficiary who is cheerful and looking forward to their help.

My Philosophy
I find communication work challenging, as it takes proper research and thought to zero in on the most suitable way to communicate a message. Many creative agencies provide random copy/designs, which only fulfil the minimal purpose of being there for the client to use. But is the maximum potential reached?
Pixel Hippie aims to do adequate research and digestion, only proposing concepts that I truly believe will work for the client. My double-set of skills in both academic (copywriting) and aesthetics (design) will ensure that each communication solution is well-blended.
Take a look at my portfolio (click on the pics to enlarge them), and do drop me a note if you're keen to offer an opportunity for collaboration.
